Don’t give up on those BIG plants in August. This is that point in the season when foliage can take over. Let them shine with a few of these tips
1. Pull out the struggle (or dead) plants found underneath those big leaves
2. Cut back any damaged large leaves & trim trailers to get them bushy again
3. Go ahead and fertilize - will help to get flowering plants going again
4. If soil is dry H2O deeply (twice if really Sahara like dry)

Our party of 4 is changing this week as we send 2 kiddos to college. Last week we held tight and sang and teared up too.
PS- a young woman we did not know and seated behind us took this picture and later apologized for doing so without asking us first. She said she took it because she saw us and thought she wanted a family like ours one day.
I wanted to tell her we’re not always holding on like this.
Some days were so hard I could not think straight. The nights we just did not sleep were beyond numbers. And those black and white hardline views of our 20’s became more gray as we had built a family and were faced with the reality of tough decisions for our own. But our hearts grew more than I could ever imagine was possible and our heart aches now beyond measure with love and pride as we watch our babies grow into adults. But instead I thanked her for sharing the picture and i hoped she had a good show.
